Natural stone tabletops

All Eilersen tabletops are made from natural stone and have been pre-treated twice with a stone sealer. At Eilersen, we have chosen to keep the stone as close as possible to its natural appearance; therefore, you may notice small pits and veining in the surface. This is a natural characteristic of the stone and is what makes each tabletop unique.

The treatment makes the surface more resistant to stains, but it still requires proper care. Marble and natural stone are porous materials, so liquids should never remain on the surface for too long. Acidic liquids such as wine, juice, and vinegar can leave marks.
These tabletops are not fully sealed like kitchen countertops and therefore require extra attention. Wipe up spills immediately and always use coasters. For daily cleaning, use a soft damp cloth soaked in warm water with a mild liquid detergent.

We recommend retreating the surface once or twice per year, depending on usage.

A stone sealer can be purchased at most of our dealers. We recommend a product from Guardian.

Instructions for G-Polish treatment:

  1. Clean the plate with a clean wrong cloth and lukewarm water. Let the plate dry completely before continuing.

  2. Shake the bottle well before spreading the G-Polish evenly out in a thin layer on the entire surface using a clean dry sponge or lint-free cloth.

  3. Let the surface dry for approximately 15 min. Afterward, the entire surface must be polished using a clean dry lint-free cloth.

  4. Afterward, repeat steps 2 and 3 to ensure the plate is saturated.

WARNING.

A stone sealer does not provide anti-etch protection. The use of acidic substances e.g. wine, citrus, coffee, etc. will etch the surface permanently.
